Plagiarism Policy
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works. If the author(s) use other's works and/or words then they must be cited or quoted appropriately. An author should not, in general, publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. In accordance with the Rulebook on the use of Plagiarism Detecting Software at the University of Sarajevo (consolidated text), available at https://unsa.ba/o-univerzitetu/propisi/pravilnik-o-nacinu-koristenja-softvera-za-detekciju-plagijarizma, all scientific/expert papers published in journals whose publisher is the University/ University’s organizational unit, and prior to the publication in the journal, are subject to the obligatory check for potential plagiarism. The University of Sarajevo performs potential plagiarism checking by using appropriate software.
After receiving a positive review of scientific/expert paper, the Editorial Board’s duty is to send a request to the Commission for monitoring the use of plagiarism detecting software via the University of Sarajevo Department for Publishing that performs papers checking. The University of Sarajevo Department for Publishing submits to the applicant a PDF document of scientific/expert paper with marked parts of the text for which similarity with parts of the text from the appropriate source has been detected with an indication of the source, a screenshot with the detected similarity percentage and the verification results with detected similarities in the envisaged form. After reviewing the result of performed checking, the Editorial Board is obliged to submit a report to Commission for monitoring the use of plagiarism detecting software.
