Author Guidelines
Sophos is a journal of young researchers involved in projects of the Scientific Research Incubator (ZINK), established on July 2, 2007, at the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. The journal aims to recognize and promote the scientific and research interests of young researchers and students at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels. A distinctive feature of Sophos is that it is the first journal of the Scientific Research Incubator in Bosnia and Herzegovina to publish research conducted by young scholars, including students, teaching assistants, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates. Sophos publishes work in philosophy, sociology, sociolinguistics, linguistics, social psychology, gender studies, and cultural anthropology, as well as other related disciplines within the humanities and social sciences. Articles may be published in Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, or other European language (e.g., English, French, German, Spanish, or Italian). The Editorial Board reserves the right to select papers submitted in foreign languages.
Articles (revised final BA and MA theses, research papers, seminar papers, postgraduate theses), translations and book reviews may be contributed. Articles and translations should contain no more than 15 – 20 pages (circa 8000 words), while book reviews should not exceed 3 – 5 pages (circa 1500 – 2000 words). All contributions should be organized in accordance to the standards applied at the indexed journals in Europe and elsewhere. Articles should be written in accordance with the AIMRAD (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion) structure of the scientific article.
All articles should contain an abstract followed by key words. Abstract is a summary of the article (circa 10 lines), containing a short description of the goal, methods and results of the paper. The abstract and key words are written in mother tongue and in English.
The articles should contain the following elements: title, data on the author and the institution, abstract in the author’s mother tongue and in English, key words in the mother tongue and in English, introduction (an overview of the past works / hypothesis in the same thematic field, materials and methods, presentation of evidence, hypothesis of the entire work, goals, expected results), text divided into chapters, conclusion and references (sources, references, bibliography). If a bibliographic source is not in English, the reference must include an English translation of the title in brackets immediately following the original title. (for ex. Bauman, Z. (2011). The content and bibliographical notes should be clearly differentiated in the text. Content notes describe and clarify the text in greater detail. They are written under a line at the bottom of the text. Bibliographical notes refer to citations – i.e. to a precise section of the text cited from another publication. They are inserted into the text and contain the name of the author, year in which the cited work was published and the page where the cited section can be found (Frege, 1964, 88). Complete data on the source or on that particular bibliographical reference is provided in the list of sources. The journal consistently applies its ethical principles and guidelines, regardless of the authors’ race, nationality, gender, institutional affiliation. Plagiarism detection software is used to verify the originality and integrity of the papers. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. The reviewers are distinguished professors and other experts in the fields of humanities and social sciences.

Sophos je časopis mladih istraživača/ica okupljenih u projektima Znanstveno-istraživačkog inkubatora (ZINK), osnovanog 2. jula 2007. godine na Univerzitetu u Sarajevu - Filozofskom fakultetu u Sarajevu. Časopis je namijenjen prepoznavanju i promociji znanstveno-istraživačkog interesa mladih istraživača/ica i studenata/studentica na dodiplomskom, diplomskom i postdiplomskom studiju. Sophos je prvi časopis Znanstveno-istraživačkog inkubatora u Bosni i Hercegovini koji objavljuje radove mladih istraživača/ica – uključujući studente/ice, asistente/ice, postdiplomce/kinje i doktorante/ice. Časopis Sophos obuhvata oblasti filozofije, sociologije, sociolingvistike, lingvistike, socijalne psihologije, rodnih studija i kulturne antropologije, kao i druge srodne discipline iz područja humanističkih i društvenih nauka. Članci se mogu objavljivati na bosanskom, hrvatskom, srpskom ili nekom od europskih jezika (npr. engleskom, francuskom, njemačkom, španskom ili italijanskom). Uredništvo zadržava pravo odabira radova dostavljenih na stranim jezicima.
Prilozi mogu biti članci (revidirani dodiplomski radovi, diplomski radovi, istraživački radovi, seminarski radovi, magistarski radovi), prijevodi i prikazi knjiga. Članci treba da sadrže najviše 15–20 strana (cca. 8000 riječi), prijevodi 15–20 strana (cca. 8000 riječi), prikazi 3–5 strana (cca. 1500–2000 riječi). Prilozi moraju biti urađeni prema standardima indeksiranih časopisa u Evropi i svijetu. U sastavljanju članaka treba koristiti AIMRAD strukturu znanstvenog članka (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion). Prilozi moraju sadržavati tematski izvod (abstract) uz koji se navode ključne riječi (key words). Tematski izvod (abstract) je sažeta forma rada (cca. 10 redova) u kojem se kratko opisuje cilj, metode i rezultati rada. Abstract i ključne riječi se pišu na maternjem jeziku, nakon čega se navode i na engleskom jeziku.
Članak treba sadržati sljedeće elemente: naslov rada, podatke o autoru i instituciji, tematski izvod (abstract) na maternjem i engleskom jeziku, ključne riječi na maternjem i engleskom jeziku, uvod (pregled dosadašnjih radova / hipoteza na istom tematskom području, materijal i metode, dokazni postupak, hipotezu rada, ciljeve, očekivane rezultate), tekst rada razdijeljen po poglavljima, zaključak i literaturu (izvore, reference, bibliografiju). Literatura mora imati navedene naslove i na engleskom jeziku nakon originalnog naslova ( npr. Bauman, Z. (2011): Tekuća modernost (Liquid Modernity). Zagreb: Naklada Pelago).
U tekstu treba razlikovati sadržinske i bibliografske bilješke. Sadržinske bilješke detaljnije opisuju i pojašnjavaju tekst. Stavljaju se ispod crte na dnu teksta. Bibliografske bilješke odnose se na citat – odnosno na tačno određeni dio teksta iz neke druge publikacije. Stavljaju se u tekst i sadrže ime autora, godinu izdanja djela koje se citira i stranicu na kojoj se nalazi mjesto koje se citira (Frege, 1964, 88). Potpune podatke o tom izvoru ili o toj bibliografskoj jedinici navode se u popisu literature. Časopis dosljedno primjenjuje svoja etička načela i smjernice, bez obzira na rasu, nacionalnost, spol, institucionalnu pripadnost autora. Za provjeru originalnosti i integriteta radova koristi se softver za detekciju plagijarizma. Svi radovi prolaze dvostruku slijepu recenziju. Recenzenti su istaknuti profesori i drugi stručnjaci iz oblasti humanističkih i društvenih nauka.
